Central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) are currently a hot topic. According to a study by the Bank for International Settlements, 20% of worldwide central banks intend to issue a CBDC within the next six years.

This online workshop introduces the basic ideas behind a CBDC, discusses current CBDC initiatives, and explains how a CBDC fits in the current monetary system.
