Crypto.com and KSNET Partner to Enable Crypto Payments for Foreign Tourists in South Korea
Foreign travelers visiting South Korea can now pay for goods and services using cryptocurrencies, thanks to a new partnership between Crypto.com and KSNET.
Crypto.com, a global cryptocurrency platform, has joined forces with KSNET, one of Korea’s largest payment service providers, to integrate Crypto.com Pay across major retail sectors. The partnership allows international visitors to make crypto payments at leading fashion, beauty, and duty-free stores throughout the country.
In addition, Crypto.com Visa Card holders—both physical and digital—can now use their cards to pay for public bus transportation in Jeju, one of South Korea’s most popular tourist destinations. This marks a significant shift in Jeju’s traditionally closed-loop transit payment system, opening it up to global travelers.
KSNET is one of Korea’s top four Value-Added Network (VAN) providers, supporting over 330,000 merchants and processing around 130 million transactions per month, amounting to nearly $4 billion USD in monthly transaction volume. The integration of Crypto.com Pay offers merchants a faster, lower-cost alternative to traditional payment systems, accepting crypto directly from Crypto.com App users with reduced transaction fees.
