On the eve of SBC Summit Lisbon 2025, Dubai’s weekly tech gathering EcoX teamed up Web3 District Lisbon with DSRPTD (the “Tech VC Browser of the world”) to host a dynamic “Warm‑Up Night” titled EcoX SBC Web3 District—a vibrant launchpad for the SBC summit.
Dubai Warm‑Up Sparks Energy & Connections
Held on September 15 at Scandal Club in Dubai, the event served as a prelude—fueling momentum for the three‑day SBC Summit in Lisbon. Attendees were treated to a blend of networking, product demos, and community engagement, setting the tone for what became a standout global gathering.
The evening’s program opened with remarks from Franco Fiore (EcoX cofounder) and Ahmed Refaie (DSRPTD host), followed by a “Super‑Pitch Session.” Among the startups featured were:
- USDR — a gold‑backed stablecoin by Gustavo Montero
- PWR Chain — pushing Web3 infrastructure by Edy Haddad
- Bonuz — world’s most user-friendly Ethereum, Solana, and Bitcoin Wallet, presented by Matthias Mende

The event also spotlighted a teaser for DXB Dubai Police Ops Game, collaborations with VESA’s Art Cars, festival tie‑ins, and a live presentation from Raphael Aflalo (cofounder of DJaayz by Cathy Guetta). The final act: a live DJ set from Nikka Lorak streaming from Paris, capping the night with music and dancing.
Lisbon Ignites: Web3 Academy & More
The Legends Charity Match, held on September 15 (prior to the Summit), featured teams of Portugal Legends vs World Legends. Stars included Luís Figo, Deco, Nuno Gomes, Alessandro Del Piero, Cafu, Michael Owen, Javier Zanetti, Kaká, Carles Puyol among others. It aimed to raise over €1 million for charity.

Peter Schmeichel, Marek Hamšík, Gaizka Mendieta, and Giorgos Karagounis participated in press conferences around these football legends. Among the speakers and the attendees were Baiba Broka the President of the Latvian Biathlon Federation, Nazen Carneiro the Editor in Chief of DJ Mag Brasil and CEO of NZPR the leading music and entertainment PR agency, and Gerald Acheampong the Talent Manager and Former voice of BBC Radio One. The SBC Summit — held September 16–18 at Lisbon’s Feira Internacional & MEO Arena — shattered previous benchmarks in attendance, content, and influence.
Formula 1 veteran Rubens Barrichello and the undisputed boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk both delivered keynote speeches live on stage.
Preceding the main sessions, a kickoff party took place on September 16 at K Urban Beach (in partnership with Pin‑Up), featuring EDM performances by Joel Corry and Imanbek.
On September 17, Web3 Academy by Web3 District Lisbon opened at the Super Stage. A panel of Web3 veterans, moderated by Eduardo Baruch (CEO, Web3 District), featured voices like Ishan Haque (CEO, Origami), Paul Corlett (Product & Grants, The Sandbox DAO), Jordi Baylina (Tech Lead, Zisk), Cameron Dennis (AI Manager, NEAR Foundation), and Hovort Hvartsou (FIFA game dev).
This was followed by seven in‑depth workshops covering topics from AI & Web3 to NFT tools, governance, regulation, and monetization. Notable sessions included:
- Web3 × AI: Building Smarter, Safer, Fairer Betting (Gerald Acheampong)
- Tax Smart — MiCA, VASP & the Final Crypto Boss (Baiba Broka)

That evening, Affiliate Leaders Awards made their debut, celebrating affiliate marketing excellence. On September 18, the SBC Awards took center stage, co-hosted by legendary goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel.
