Tether (USDT) is a cryptocurrency backed by actual fiat currency assets, including USD, Euros and, soon, Japanese Yen. One USDT equals one underlying unit of the currency backing it, e.g., the USA Dollar, and is backed 100% by actual assets in the Tether platform’s reserve account.
By using Blockchain technology, Tether allows you to store, send and receive digital tokens person-to-person, globally, instantly, and securely for a fraction of the cost of alternatives.
Today, on June 25 Tether, the company behind USDT tokens, released another 250 million USDT, according to Omni Explorer.
The previous time, on May 18, 2018, Tether released 250 million USDT tokens too.
The crypto community has noticed that USDT release usually makes the cryptocurrency market move. However, not always up and not always down. What will happen this time – we will see.
