Binance planned to hire 500 employees by mid-2023

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance “does not plan layoffs” in 2023. This was reported by representatives of the company.

Instead, the platform intends to hire 500 people by the end of the first half of the year. Binance also stated that more than 600 new employees have been hired since the beginning of the year.

Currently, 464 open vacancies have been published on the company’s website.

In June 2022, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao said that crypto winter is a great time to hire employees. In the same month, in an interview, he revealed plans to expand the staff by 15-20%.

The statement was made against the background of mass layoffs in the crypto industry. According to a CoinGecko report, in January 2023 alone, more than 84% of the 2,806 cuts in the market were related to cryptocurrency exchanges.

Earlier, the NFT marketplace Magic Eden reduced its staff by 15%, and the Canadian Dapper Labs planned to lay off 20% of its staff.

Recall that in January Binance reported on the results of work for 2022. The company noted that the number of employees of the platform exceeded 7,500 people.
