On August 7, the Coinbase team announced that Ethereum Classic (ETC) will be launched on Coinbase Pro with three trading pairs available – ETC/USD, ETC/BTC and ETC/EUR.
“We will be launching ETC support first on our exchanges, and then at Coinbase.com.”
The launch will proceed in four stages: transfer-only, post-only, limit-only, and full-trading mode.
The support for ETC at Coinbase.com will be added when sufficient liquidity is established. The Coinbase team expects this to occur approximately 1–2 weeks after trading begins on Coinbase Pro.
GDAX is split into Coinbase Pro and Prime. Coinbase Pro is the exchange for individual traders, and Coinbase Prime is the exchange for institutions. Institutional customers will be contacted directly from the Coinbase Prime team.
