Elon Musk’s xAI Introduces Revolutionary AI Chatbot ‘Grok’ at $16 Monthly on X Premium Plus
In a groundbreaking development, Elon Musk and his AI venture, xAI, have unleashed “Grok” – an AI chatbot that claims to surpass OpenAI’s initial ChatGPT in various academic assessments. Grok is currently available to a select group of users within the United States for $16 per month on the X Premium Plus platform.
Musk and the xAI team revealed that Grok is engineered with the primary goal of enhancing research and innovation, equipping humanity with advanced AI tools. A unique selling point for Grok is its real-time access to global knowledge through the X platform.
Furthermore, Grok prides itself on tackling ‘spicy’ questions that most other AI systems would reject. Musk and xAI also emphasized Grok’s witty and somewhat rebellious personality, stating, “Grok is designed to answer questions with a bit of wit and has a rebellious streak, so please don’t use it if you hate humor!”
Grok’s engine, Grok-1, has been subjected to rigorous academic testing in mathematics and coding. According to xAI’s data, Grok-1 outperformed ChatGPT-3.5 in all these evaluations, marking a significant leap in AI capabilities. However, it’s worth noting that Grok-1 fell short of OpenAI’s latest iteration, GPT-4, in all tested domains.
Musk and xAI clarified, “It is only surpassed by models that were trained with a significantly larger amount of training data and compute resources like GPT-4. This showcases the rapid progress we are making at xAI in training LLMs with exceptional efficiency.”
Grok, as an AI chatbot, is still in its early beta stage, and xAI anticipates rapid improvements in its functionality. The xAI team is also committed to implementing enhanced safety measures to prevent malicious usage of Grok.
