When Pavel Durov, the CEO of Telegram refused to hand over the keys to decrypt users’ messages to the Federal Security Service (FSB), Roskomnadzor filed a lawsuit to the Tagansky district court of Moscow with the requirement to limit access to Telegram in Russia. Today’s decision of the court was to block Telegram in Russia immediately.
A representative of «Agora» (the company which represents the interests of Telegram) said the court’s decision would be appealed.
