Larry Fink’s 2025 Annual Letter to Investors: The Growing Role of Crypto in Global Finance

Cryptocurrencies and BlackRock Products

In 2024, the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) spot Bitcoin ETF was successfully launched, attracting significant investment from both retail and institutional investors. Currently, assets under management (AUM) amount to $50 billion. Over the past year, $26.5 billion has been raised, and the stock price has increased by 75%.

Fink notes that if sovereign wealth funds start allocating 2% to 5% of their portfolios to Bitcoin, its price could reach $500,000–$700,000.

New Portfolio Strategy

Fink proposes moving away from the traditional 60/40 portfolio model (60% stocks, 40% bonds) to a new allocation of 50% stocks, 30% bonds, and 20% private assets, including infrastructure and real estate. This approach reflects his confidence in the growing role of private markets and digital assets in modern investment strategies.

Asset Tokenization

One of BlackRock’s key focus areas is asset tokenization. Larry Fink believes that leveraging blockchain technology for the tokenization of traditional assets will make investments more accessible, efficient, and transparent while revolutionizing the ways assets are traded and managed.

Impact on the Economy and the Dollar’s Status

Fink expresses concern about the rising U.S. national debt, noting that interest payments in 2025 will exceed $952 billion, surpassing defense spending.
He warns that uncontrolled debt growth could undermine the U.S. dollar’s status as the world’s reserve currency. In this context, Fink considers Bitcoin a potential alternative for investors seeking to protect their assets from dollar depreciation.

Optimism and Confidence

Despite economic challenges, Fink remains confident in the resilience of markets and human adaptability to overcome crises. He encourages investors to see the current instability as an opportunity for innovation and growth.

#BlackRock continues to expand its presence in the crypto space, highlighting a strategic shift toward integrating cryptocurrencies and digital assets into traditional financial structures.
