Pakistan Taps Binance Founder Changpeng Zhao as Crypto Advisor in Bold Move

In a significant step towards embracing digital innovation, the Pakistan government has appointed Changpeng Zhao, the influential founder of Binance, as a Strategic Advisor to the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC). This move underscores Pakistan’s ambition to become a regional leader in Web3, digital finance, and blockchain technologies.

During his visit to Islamabad, Zhao met with key officials, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, as well as Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, who chairs the PCC. The council aims to develop a comprehensive framework for cryptocurrency regulation and adoption, leveraging Zhao’s expertise to create a compliant and globally competitive crypto ecosystem.

As Strategic Advisor, Zhao will focus on enhancing regulatory frameworks, developing infrastructure, promoting education, and fostering adoption. His involvement is seen as crucial in harnessing Pakistan’s vast potential, with over 60% of its population under the age of 30. This demographic advantage positions Pakistan as an ideal hub for digital innovation and growth.

The appointment marks a significant milestone for Pakistan, signaling its openness to innovation and its intent to emerge as a major player in the global crypto and blockchain sectors. With Zhao’s guidance, Pakistan aims to join the ranks of progressive nations like Singapore and Dubai in embracing Web3 technologies.
