Sphere 3D, a Bitcoin mining firm, has filed a lawsuit against its business partner, Gryphon Digital Mining, for allegedly losing $500,000 of its Bitcoin to a hacker posing as Sphere 3D’s CFO.
The lawsuit also claims that Gryphon provided poor services and misrepresented Sphere 3D’s computing power as its own. Sphere 3D is seeking damages in excess of $75,000 and is also looking to promote corporate integrity in the cryptocurrency industry. Gryphon has not yet responded publicly to the allegations.
The complaint was filed with the Southern District of New York on Friday.
