Telegram messenger started testing its first service for the future TON blockchain platform. The service is called Telegram Passport. Telegram Passport will allow to identify users so that they can use the services of the company’s partners.
The service will collect data of passports, foreign passports, driver’s licenses, bank accounts and other documents, including users’ photos.
Access to the personal data will be only for the user himself, the information will be protected by two-factor authentication. Telegram and partner services will access data only if the user agrees to give it.
The service can be launched by the summer of 2018. Qiwi payment system has already received access to Telegram Passport technology.
