The Yandex company confirmed that its search engine had begun to index the files of Google Docs users.
On July 4, users noticed that the Yandex search engine began to index files on Google Docs. Documents with personal data and passwords were also available at certain search parameters.
The company noted that only files that are publicly available are indexed in the search engine. Only those files, in the access settings to which “publicly available” was indicated, appeared in the search engine.
Hence, the documents from Google Docs service were in open access due to the access settings saved by the users themselves.
